MARS V2: INCENTIVIZED PERPS TESTNET ON NEUTRON

Get ready, Martians! Mars is launching an exciting Perps Trading Competition on the Neutron Public Testnet. This is your chance to push the limits of Mars Perps and test our risk methodology. Here’s everything you need to know:🔻

Competition Overview

- Platform: Pion-1 Neutron Public Testnet  

- Focus: Mars v2 Perps Trading and Bug Reporting  

- Markets: BTC, ETH, ATOM, TIA, PEPE  

- Timeframes: The incentivized testnet will run for 7 days

- Goal: Stress-test the Mars perps feature and report any bugs

How to Join

Step 1: Download a Cosmos wallet, such as the Keplr Chrome Extension (https://www.keplr.app/get), and add Pion-1 as the network.

Step 2: Need Testnet Gas Fee Tokens? Claim testnet $NTRN from the Telegram faucet: https://t.me/+SyhWrlnwfCw2NGM6‍

Step 3: Wait for the sign-up period to open (Monday, Nov 18, 2024, 12pm UTC) and mint a Credit Account before the sign-up deadline (Monday, Nov 25, 2024, 12pm UTC) ends. 

Step 4: Your Credit Account will be automatically (No need to manually deposit as it will be disabled) funded with 10,000 testnet USDC just before the competition starts on Monday, Nov 25 2024, 4pm UTC.  

Step 5: Head over to https://tradingcompetition.marsprotocol.io and get familiarized with the Rules and Leaderboard.

Step 6: Head over to https://perps.marsprotocol.io and start trading on testnet (trading goes live on Monday, Nov 25 2024, 4pm UTC)

Rewards & Bug Reporting

This competition rewards profit and loss (PnL) achievements and bug reporting! Earn incentives for both trading performance and identifying bugs.

Top Rewards Include:

- Martian Champion: Top trader by PnL - $4,000 in MARS

- True Martian: 2nd top trader by PnL - $2,500 in MARS

- Red Planet Pioneer: 3rd top trader by PnL - $1,500 in MARS

- Martian Ally: 4th top trader by PnL - $1,000 in MARS

- Martian Guardian: 5th top trader by PnL - $500 in MARS

- Lost in Space: Highest amount liquidated - $500 in MARS

Help us refine Mars v2 Perps by reporting bugs you encounter! We’re focused on user-facing issues, like UI bugs or interaction glitches, while more serious security vulnerabilities should be directed to our whitehat bug bounty program.

If you're a whitehat looking for more in-depth code vulnerabilities, please refer to our separate Immunefi bug bounty program https://immunefi.com/bug-bounty/mars/information, the Mars Protocol Foundation will consider any vulnerabilities found in testnet against this bounty, with the difference of critical bounties having a max payouts of $20k in MARS during testnet.

Three tiers of bugs, each with a max reward cap:

- Tier 1 (Highest severity): $400 in MARS capped to $2k: e.g., a Bug that causes a user’s account to become permanently or temporarily in a state where perps positions cannot be closed/opened/edited/liquidated/deleveraged (where they otherwise should be).

- Tier 2 (Medium severity), $200 in MARS capped to $1k: e.g., Bug that causes a user’s account and/or perps position data to be incorrectly reported.

- Tier 3 (Lower severity), $100 in MARS capped to $1k: e.g., Any other general UI bug that requires a pull request from dev team to fix.

Note: Rewards are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until max rewards are reached. Your feedback helps us improve Mars v2 Perps!

Reward Payment Terms

The Mars Protocol Foundation handles payouts, which are denominated in USD. However, payouts are made in MARS.

The net amount rewarded is calculated based on the average price between CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko at the time the bug report was submitted. No adjustments are made based on liquidity availability.
